The Media Affairs Department serves as Israel's channel of communication to Florida, Kansas, Missouri and Puerto Rico. The department updates the region's print, broadcast, and electronic media on Israeli government policy as well as news developments
.
The Media Affairs Department provides news, policy briefings and interviews between senior government representatives and the international, national and local media. Because Miami is a hub for media networks from Latin America and Spain, footage is often aired and published internationally, and throughout the intercontinental region.
The Media Affairs Department also initiates opinion pieces
from the Consulate, and is responsible for media coverage of consular
activities within its multi-state jurisdiction.
Ariel Roman-Harris is a steadfast member of the Consulate who in addition to managing the Consulate's cultural affairs, is also responsible for the Consulate's media affairs and much of the public relations outreach.
Ariel graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree (International Relations) from Florida International University where he completed the Honors Study Abroad Program at Charles University in the Czech Republic. Ariel also received a Certificate of Latin American and Caribbean Studies at F.I.U.
Ariel speaks English and Spanish and has a developing command of French and Portuguese.
