The Christian Affairs Department seeks to strengthen Israel's relationship with the Christian community in Florida & Puerto Rico. The Christian Affairs department is managed by Mr. Gabriel Baredes.
Mr. Gabriel Baredes was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
While living there, he worked at the Embassy of Israel at the Latin America Public Relations department and was in charge of the Israel’s involvement in the International Book Fair held in Argentina, an activity he introduced to the Consulate curriculum when he arrived in Florida.
In 2002, Mr. Baredes was transferred to the Consulate General of Israel in Miami to open the Hispanic Affairs division, to become its Director.
His responsibilities include strengthening relations between Israel and the Hispanic communities in Florida and Puerto Rico. Presentations of Israeli dignitaries, Israeli film screenings, as well as political activities and cultural exchanges are some of the activities being conducted under the Hispanic department.
Since 2011, Gabriel has also been in charge of the successful relationship between Israel and the Christian communities in Florida and Puerto Rico. He has given countless presentations at different churches reaching out and obtaining crucial support for the State of Israel and the Florida and Puerto Rico Jewish community.
Gabriel has been responsible for organizing the first ever Chanukah and Christmas celebration in Miami where approximately 500 people attended. Jewish and Christian representatives, as well as members of other communities were in attendance.
Mr. Baredes graduated with honors from Miami Dade College and holds a B.A.S. in Supervision and Management in Business Administration and achieved his Master Degree in Global Management at Nova Southeastern University. Gabriel is fluent in Spanish, Hebrew, and English.
