Solar light today has become very crucial to Nepal due to elongated load-shedding hours. Even a slightest ray of light will help a passerby during dark nights especially at a place where one comes to receive health service and no compromises can be made when it comes to one's own well-being. Keeping this sensitive issue in mind, the Embassy of Israel in Nepal donated solar lights to Bir Hospital on 28 May 2014.
A small ceremony was held at the Bir Hospital to inaugurate the solar lights. Unveiling the solar panels, H.E. Mr. Hanan Goder, Ambassador of Israel to Nepal said, "This hospital has been providing high quality services to the people in need and I am very proud to be associated with its magnificent efforts to serve the community".
Expressing his delight Dr. Buland Thapa, Director at Bir Hospital said, "Bir Hospital, the oldest in the Nation has recently been lightened with solar panels donated by Israeli Embassy in the ER & Inpatient premises. We are very thankful and obliged. Hospitals are busy 24 hours and we desperately need Brightness, not Darkness!"
Shalom club members, hospital staff and Embassy staff witnessed the unveiling ceremony.
