Israeli Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, the Honourable Mr. Yair Shamir, has arrived to Kathmandu for a two day official visit on 8 January 2015. Minister Shamir is leading an official delegation and business delegation from Israel.
The historic visit is another symbol of strong bonds between the two countries and also marks the beginning of the program for the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel.
Upon Minister Shamir's arrival in Kathmandu, he is scheduled to meet his Nepali counterpart, the Honourable Mr. Hari Prasad Parajuli, Minister for Agricultural Development. He is also scheduled to meet the President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Commerce and Supply.
The discussions will focus on further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries and open more doors in exploring areas of mutual interests.
Minister Shamir will also jointly inaugurate a Business Seminar in the field of Agriculture and agro technologies with the Honourable Mr. Parajuli and is scheduled to attend a dinner hosted in his honour by the Government of Nepal.
During the visit Minister Shamir will present water filters from the People of Israel to the families affected by the recent floods in various parts of western Nepal.
