A special screening of the Israeli documentary film, ‘En-route. On Foot. Up Hill’, took place at the Nepal Tourism Board on 15 December 2015 in memory of late Laxman Ghimire, Managing Director, Swissa Rafting and Trekking Expedition. The screening was jointly organized by the Embassy of Israel and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) to appreciate Laxman and his special friendship to Israel and care for Israeli tourists. Also, it's a small step to promote tourism here.

A special message from Shuka Ravek, the lead in the documentary film and a close friend of Laxman was shown before the screening. Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Mr. Yaron Mayer also expressed his personal gratitude to late Laxman Ghimire.

The documentary film directed by Israeli film maker Barak Tal tells an adventure story of a failed attempt by a group of Israelis to cross the highest mountain pass in the Himalayas that had never been crossed before. On a deeper level, it is a film about the reality in Israel, that its plot takes place in a different part of the world. Led by an octogenarian, who frequently leads people to mountain expeditions, the documentary tells story of a journey towards fulfillment, reality, passion and difficulties of life and failure, depicted in a simple yet enthralling way.

This documentary film was selected to be screened during the Kathmandu Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) during 10-16 December 2015. Director Tal, who came to represent Israel with his film in the festival, also conducted a lecture for the students of Oscar International College, the only college in South Asia that provides a bachelor’s degree in film making.
