    Marking the ‘Good Deeds Day’ on 04 May 2016, the Embassy of Israel together with Shalom Club Nepal and IsraAID Nepal, spent a day painting, decorating walls and cleaning building at Kanti Children’s Hospital, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.Expressing delightfulness, Ambassador Mayer said, “A day spent doing something for the benefit of others is the most satisfying thing and I call everyone to come out and unite, spend a day together, to contribute their skills and time to improve the lives of others. The World will be a better place to live.

    Earlier this year, the Embassy handed over medicines to the hospital. Further the Embassy will be donating books, toys and games brought from Israel for the hospital and treatment of the children.
     
    The Embassy has been organizing volunteer’s day for the past six years, taking a break from regular Embassy work and spending a day or two doing community work.This year, the Embassy has coincided the ‘Good Deeds Day’ and Jewish festival of ‘Pesach’ to do this community service, the Embassy’s way of marking the arrival of spring and Pesach and wishing for the beautiful days ahead.
     
    Good deeds day is a global annual tradition of doing something good together, volunteering time energy and expertise for the benefit of the community. It is celebrated worldwide on 10 April.Last year, 61 countries, almost one million people spent three million hours doing 11,000 good deeds project in a single day.
