Art Therapy Workshop

    ​IsraAID Nepal in collaboration with the Embassy of Israel in Nepal organized a workshop on “Art Therapy: The use of art and creative process for mental wellbeing" from 3-6 October 2016. The workshop gave participants an introduction to art therapy as a therapeutic tool that can enable emotional expression and enhance coping strategies for individual and group empowerment. The workshop explored ways of using art materials in the service of emotional expression with various populations with different needs. The participants experienced and practiced various methods of interventions: beginning a therapeutic process, holding and closing it.

     

    The three day long workshop was facilitated by an Israeli Art therapist Dr. Elana lakh and Anat gilad where fifteen participants representing various organizations were benefitted. The closing ceremony was glorified with the presence of His Excellency Mr. Yaron Mayer, Ambassador of Israel, Mr. Mohan Singh Rathore, Chairman of Good Governance and Monitoring Parliamentary Committee, Mr. Nabaraj Dhakal, Former AIG, Nepal Police and other distinguished guests.
     
    “We found the participants enthusiastic to experience and learn. We were thrilled to witness the depth of the participants' involvement in the process- experiencing, exploring and understanding" Dr.Elana Lakh and Anat Gilad shared. Similarly,
    Ambassador Mayer highlighted the strong relationship between Israel and Nepal, and shared that the Israeli expertise in mental health and psychosocial issues. His Excellency further added, “The skills and tools received by the participants should be shared with local community to deepen and strengthen the happiness in a Nepali community.”
