    The Consulate-General of Israel in Guangzhou was established on March 2009 and is handling Israel relations with South-East China provinces of Guangdong, Fujian, Guangxi and Hainan.Chief Guest at the official inauguration ceremony was Prof. Ada Yonath, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry in 2009.
     
    Since the opening of the Consulate-General the following Israeli Minister have visit the region:

    May 2010 – Minister of Environment, Mr. Gilad Erdan
    June 2010 – Minister of National Infrastructures – Dr. Uzi Landau
    Sep. 2010 - Minister of Commerce and Industry – Mr. Binyamin Ben-Eliezer
     
     
    From the Chinese side:
    Oct. 2010 – Guangdong Governor, Mr. Huang Huahua
    Sep. 2011 – Party Secretary of Shenzhen, Mr. Wang Rong
    Besides the Visits of Vice Governors from Guangdong and Fujian, Mayors and Vice-Mayors.

    Social Commitment:
     
    The Consulate General has decided to use the budget that was allocated to the Israel’s National Day reception for activities for the local communities.
     
    April. 2010 – Together with the Youth League of the Communist Party of Guangzhou and the Children Palace, the Consulate have sponsored the teaching material to the special children
    June. 2011 – As part of the Guangzhou Government Poverty Alleviation Project, The Consulate General has sponsored 250,000RMB to build the medical centre in Meitangcun, Meizhou city.
