On the morning of February 22, Wen zhanbin ,Party Secretary of Shantou Municipal met with Israeli Ambassador to China Irit Ben Abba ,and Consul General of Guangdong Alex Goldman Shayman at Shantou .
The Ambassador gave highly commend of the achievements of the exchange and cooperation between Israel and Shantou, and hoped that both sides would give full play to their resource advantages, increase the support and guarantee for the education and running of Guangdong Israel Institute of Technology, and work together to build the Institute into an internationally recognized high-level research university; At the same time, she also said that would actively promote communication and exchanges between the two sides, further expand cooperation areas, close friendly exchanges and strive to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Secretary Wen Zhanbin said that Israel is a world-famous innovative country and has a wild scope cooperation space with Shantou. He sincerely hoped that the Israeli Embassy in China and the Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou would continue to pay attention to and support the development of Shantou, further enhance friendly exchanges between the two sides, and promote scientific and technological cooperation, trade, cultural exchanges and cooperation.
