Romania and the State of Israel expand the cultural cooperation
in the field of cinematographic co-productions
The Romanian Minister of Culture, Mr. Daniel - Constantin Barbu and H.E. the Ambassador of the State of Israel in Romania, Mr. Dan Ben – Eliezer will sign on August 12, 2013, an Agreement on cinematographic co-productions between the Government of Romania and the Government of Israel. The Agreement will reinforce the current legal framework provided by the Program for cultural, scientific and educational collaboration between the two countries and will offer the necessary platform for cooperation between the film industries.
The signing of the Agreement represents a significant step, especially in the light of the close ties between the Romanian and Israeli filmmakers in the past 20 years and the constant participation of productions from both countries in national film festivals. The revival of the Romanian and Israeli cinema that has taken place in paralel in recent years has been internationally recognized through repeated nominations and awards in festivals around the world.
Therefore, the Agreement will determine an increase in co-productions by the film industries in Romania and the State of Israel, enhance overall cultural exchanges and contribute to the strengthening of the special relationship between the two countries.
