The mission of the academic affairs activity of the Public Diplomacy Department is to foster cooperation between the academic community and institutions in Romania and the ones in Israel.
The academic cooperation between Romania and Israel falls under the provisions stipulated in the Programme of Cultural, Educational and Scientific Cooperation signed by the Governments of the both countries. Cooperation among universities and higher education institutions, students and professors exchanges, and organizing courses concerning Holocaust to the Yad Vashem Museum in Israel are some of the activities encouraged under the framework of this agreement.
Moreover, cooperation between higher education institutions from both countries can be developed through the Erasmus+ programme.
Scholarships for Romanian students interested in studying in Israel:
Israel offers annually to Romanian graduates, postgratuates or research students 3 scholarships for one academic year (8 months) in an Israeli university and 1 scholarship for a summer course on Modern Hebrew Language (Ulpan), organized at the University of Haifa in Israel.

The
Romanian Ministry of Education offers annually to Israeli graduates, postgraduates or research students 3 scholarships for one academic year (8 months) in a Romanian university and 4 scholarships to a summer courses of Romanian language, literature and civilisation organised in Romania. The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers anually 85 scholarships to foreign citizens. This scholarship applies to all the foreign students, not only Israelis and covers the tuition fees for all the university years. For more information please click here .
