    ​The Romanian Foreign Minister Andrei Marga was on an official visit to the State of Israel on 28 – 30 May 2012, at the invitation of his Israeli counterpart, Avigdor Lieberman. Talks at the Foreign Ministry focused on the development of economic opportunities.

    Romanian Foreign Minister Andrei Marga conducted an official visit in Israel between May 27-30 as the guest of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Liberman. The visit was part of the two countries' policy of deepening cooperation between them. Minister Marga met with Israel President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Intelligence and Atomic Energy, Dan Meridor, and other senior government officials.
     
    Talks at the Foreign Ministry focused on the development of economic opportunities, on issues of common bilateral interest, as well as issues on the regional and international agendas.
     
    The Romanian Foreign Minister also addressed an open event at the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at the Hebrew University campus on Mt. Scopus.
