Conference to commemorate Raoul Wallenberg

    The Embassy of Israel in Romania, together with the Embassy of Sweden, the National School of Political Science and Public Administration and the "Elie Wiesel" National Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Romania organized the international conference "Between Salvation and Extermination during World War II" in Bucharest on the 12th of October 2012, to honor the memory of Raoul Wallenberg and his actions in Budapest during World War II.
     
    Among the invited speakers were Israeli lecturer and author, Mr. Eli Yosef, the Director of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute in Lund, Ms. Marie Tuma, and psychologist and a Holocaust survivor, Ms. Hedi Fried.
     
    The conference enjoyed a wide audience, from students, to hih-level officials of the Romanian Government and members of the diplomatic corps. The media presence was also considerable, with journalists from TV stations, news agencies and national newspapers.
