Reaction to conclusions by the EU Foreign Affairs Council

    Israel, like the EU Foreign Affairs Council, attributes great importance to the Egyptian initiative to achieve a stable, durable ceasefire. Israel welcomes the repeated calls by the EU Foreign Ministers to disarm terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip.

    Israel, just like the EU Foreign Affairs Council in its conclusions tonight, attributes great importance to the Egyptian initiative to achieve a stable, durable ceasefire.

    Israel welcomes the repeated calls by the EU Foreign Ministers to disarm terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip. Commitment to the principle of demilitarization, to be implemented by an effective mechanism, will insure a fundamental change of the situation.

    As always, Israel will continue its dialogue with the EU on these crucial issues.
