The President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis offered the Faithful Service Order in rank of Grand Cross to H.E. Ambassador of the State of Israel in Romania, Mr. Dan Ben-Eliezer, for His Excellency's contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations during his tenure.

The awarding ceremony took place at the Cotroceni Palace on Thursday, July 30th, 2015.

 

Ambassador Ben-Eliezer expressed his honour at receiving the decoration and declared himself attached not only to the country, but also to the Romanian people after five very important and interesting years. "I will always fondly remember the time spent here in Romania, and I will share my knowledge and feelings about Romania to the people of the State of Israel and to other countries (...) I will keep being not just an Ambassador of the State of Israel to Romania, but also an Ambassador of Romania to the State of Israel" His Excellency added.
