În preajma Zilei Internaţionale pentru Eliminarea Violenţei împotriva Femeilor, ce are loc în data de 25 noiembrie, în lumea întreagă se desfăşoară numeroase iniţiative de conştientizare a acestei probleme existente la nivel global.
Susţinând marşul „Împreună pentru Siguranţa Femeilor”, de sâmbătă, 19 octombrie 2019, ne manifestăm solidaritatea cu fiecare femeie şi fată, victime ale violenţei. Marşul începe la orele 15:00 având ca punct de pornire Piaţa Universităţii (Parcul Colţea) şi se continuă înspre Piaţa Victoriei.
Marşul este organizat de către Reţeaua pentru prevenirea şi combaterea Violenţei împotriva Femeilor (VIF), reţea ce cuprinde 25 de organizaţii non-guvernamentale dedicate promovării drepturilor femeilor, protecţiei victimelor violenţei de gen şi luptei împotriva discriminării de gen.
Convenţia de la Istanbul cere statelor părţi să implementeze într-o manieră cuprinzătoare şi coordonată politici îndreptate împotriva acestui tip de violenţă. Drepturile victimelor trebuie să se regăsească în centrul acestor politici. Eforturile societăţii civile trebuie încurajate şi susţinute.
Ne alăturăm Reţelei VIF condamnând cu fermitate toate formele de violenţă împotriva femeilor şi fetelor. Credem că orice acţiune întreprinsă împotriva violenţei în orice ţară ne va aduce mai aproape de o lume în are femeile şi fetele îşi vor putea exercita drepturile în libertate şi siguranţă. Serviciile de sprijin şi ajutor trebuie să fie furnizate fără niciun fel de discrimare şi indiferent de condiţia socială sau de apartenenţa etnică.

Violence against women and girls happens in all countries and at all levels of society. It is not a private matter but a Human Rights violation.
In the run up to the International Day for the Eliminiation of Violence agaist Women, November 25th, various initiatives are taken around the globe to create awareness on this worldwide problem.
By supporting the march: “Together for Women’s Safety” on Saturday, October 19th 2019, we show our solidarity with every woman and girl who has suffered violence. The march starts at 15.00 at University Square (Colțea Park) and goes to Victory Square.
The march is organised by the Prevention and Combating Violence against Women (VIF) Network, which comprises 25 non-governmental organizations involved in promoting women’s rights, protecting victims of gender-based violence and combating gender discrimination.
The Istanbul Convention requires state parties to implement comprehensive and coordinated policies against such violence. Victim’s rights should be placed at the center of all measures. The work of civil society should be encouraged and supported.
We stand by the VIF Network in strongly condemning all forms of violence against women and girls. We believe that every action against violence in every country brings us closer to a world in which all women and girls can excercise their rights freely and safely. Help and support services must be provided without discrimination and regardless of background or identity.
