European Parliament resolution on the Palestinian issue

    Israel wishes to emphasize again that the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will only be reached through direct negotiations between the parties, and not via decisions by any third-party parliament.
     
    Israel notes the position of the European Parliament that recognition of a Palestinian state has to be the result of peace talks. However, the very discussion of the statehood issue harms chances to renew the negotiations.
