    The EU Ambassador clarified during the meeting that European policy on recognizing Hamas as a terrorist organization has not changed and stated that the EU intends to employ every measure to return the organization to the list.

    The Director-General of the Foreign Ministry, Nissim Ben-Shetrit, met this morning (Wednesday, 17 December) with the European Union Ambassador to Israel Lars Faaborg-Andersen. The Director-General expressed deep disappointment about the decision of the EU court to remove Hamas from the European list of terrorist organizations. He urged the EU to work swiftly to renew the listing of Hamas as a terrorist organization.
     
    The EU Ambassador clarified during the meeting that European policy on recognizing Hamas as a terrorist organization has not changed. He stated that the EU intends to employ every measure to return the organization to the list. The Ambassador emphasized that the court decision has no immediate effect and that there will be no change in regards to freezing Hamas' financial assets in Europe.
