Message of H.E. Ambassador of the State of Israel in Romania,
Mr. Dan Ben-Eliezer
Yesterday was a sad day: Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Sha'er and Naftali Frankel were laid to rest, three teenagers at the beginning of their life, whose wings were violently broken, leaving wounds that will bleed forever in the hearts of their parents. We deeply mourn the inhumane murder to which our young boys had fallen victims, brutal deaths that dismayed and outraged us.
For 18 days and nights we were hoping for a miracle to happen, that the boys would return home. No words can suffice to remove the sorrow and despair of their parents that so little time ago were still hoping and dreaming for the good future of their children. A future that no longer exists, a future that was killed. This is a price with no measure, no exchange and no consolation.
Unfortunately, since the creation of the State of Israel until now we have constantly been facing with such terrorist activities. This is the price we paid in vital efforts to develop and ensure the existence of our sacred corner of life. But our strength and faith helped us every time to become even stronger and to fight for the protection of our homeland and freedom.
Children are our future and treasure, we invest in them love, education and hope. Who strikes our children, hits in our confidence and hope. Therefore, the State of Israel will continue to act firmly until the terrorists that were involved in the kidnapping will be found and severely punished for their terrible crime.
In these tragic moments our hearts are with the parents in their endless pain. Their children, whose life has been tragically abducted, are in fact our children.
I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation for your support and this emotional commemoration. This day reflects the strong bonds between the Israelis and the Jewish communities in the world, being united, being Am Echad.
Last but not least, I take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the solidarity manifested by the Romanian government in the last days and the strong condemnation of the murders.
We will always remember the smiles of Eyal, Gilad and Naftali depicting from the pictures. We will cherish their memory in our hearts and minds.

Alaltăieri a fost o zi tristă: Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Sha'er și Naftali Frankel au fost conduși pe ultimul drum, trei adolescenți aflați la începutul vieții, ale căror aripi au fost frânte cu violență, lăsând în urmă răni care vor sângera veșnic în sufletele părinților lor. Deplângem profund crima inumană căreia tinerii noștri băieți i-au căzut victime, decese brutale care ne-au consternat și ne-au revoltat.
Timp de optsprezece zile și nopți am sperat să se întâmple un miracol, ca băieții să se întoarcă acasă. Nu există cuvinte suficiente să alunge durerea și disperarea părinților care în urmă cu atât de puțin timp, încă visau și sperau la viitorul frumos al fiilor lor. Un viitor care nu mai există, un viitor ucis. Acest preț nu are nicio măsură, nicio alternativă și nicio consolare.
Din nefericire, de la crearea statului Israel până în prezent ne-am confruntat mereu cu astfel de activități teroriste. Acesta este prețul pe care l-am plătit cu eforturi vitale pentru a dezvolta și a asigura existența colțului nostru sacru al vieții. Dar forța și credința noastră ne-au ajutat de fiecare dată să devenim mai puternici și să luptăm pentru protejarea patriei și libertății noastre.
Copiii sunt comoara și viitorul nostru, investim în ei iubire, educație și speranță. Cine lovește în copiii noștri, lovește în încrederea și speranța noastră. De aceea, Statul Israel va continua să acționeze cu fermitate până când teroriștii care au fost implicați în răpire vor fi găsiți și pedepsiți sever pentru crima lor cumplită.
În aceste momente triste, inimile noastre sunt alături de părinți în durerea lor nemărginită, căci copiii lor, răpiți în mod tragic vieții, sunt de fapt copiii noștri.
Aș dori să-mi exprim aprecierea sinceră pentru sprijinul vostru și pentru această comemorare emoționantă. Această zi reflectă legăturile puternice dintre israelieni și comunitățile evreiești din întreaga lume, fiind uniti, fiind Am Echad.
Nu în ultimul rând, aș dori să-mi exprim aprecierea pentru solidaritatea manifestată de guvernul român în ultimele zile și pentru condamnarea crimelor.
Ne vom aminti întotdeauna zâmbetele lui Eyal, Gilad și Naftali din poze. Le vom prețui mereu memoria în inimele noastre.
