New Year’s Greeting to the Chinese People
As a new year is beginning, I would like to extend to the Chinese people my best wishes for peace, prosperity and happiness.
This is my first Chinese new year in Beijing, and since arriving here I follow with great interest and admiration the achievements and progress of the People Republic of China. I’ve learned to appreciate and enjoy the ancient and rich culture of China, and to feel many similarities between the Chinese and the Jewish people.
May the year 2013, the year of the snake, will bring joy and good fortune to all the Chinese people. Let the coming year strengthen the friendship between the people of China and the people of Israel and bring peace and Harmony to all mankind.
