Marking six decades of diplomatic relationships between the State of Israel and the Kingdom of Thailand, Israel Post and Thailand Post jointly issued a commemorative stamp. On this special occasion, the Embassy of Israel to Thailand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Thailand Post jointly hosted the stamp unveiling ceremony yesterday.

"The pomegranate and mangosteen on the stamp confirm that agriculture plays a key role in both countries and serves as a bridge between two nations and their peoples. Israel highly respects over 24,000 Thai workers who are, indeed, the backbone of Israel's agriculture." H.E. Mr. Simon Roded, the Ambassador of Israel to Thailand.

"The Picture of Thai mangosteen and Israeli pomegranate together represent the existing close and comprehensive relations between the two countries for the past six decades, which will continue to flourish in the years ahead.” Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

Ms. Anusra Chittmittrapap, President of Thailand Post Company Limited, added “Under the theme of “Fruits”, Thai mangosteen and Israeli pomegranate are chosen to symbolize our long-lasting relations, well-wishes, and prosperity that belong to both countries.”

This commemorative stamp will be available both in Thailand and Israel from 5th June 2014 onward.
