    On the occasion of the Gift of Life Foundation's 12th anniversary, the Gift of Life Foundation, Sala Sudasiri Sobha and the Embassy of Israel present an evening of classic sonatas by Israeli violinist Ilya Konovalov (concertmaster of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra) and Thai Steinway artist Nat Yontararak, from 16.00 on Sunday 26, July 2015 @ Sala Sudasiri Sobha.
     
    Ilya Konovalov was born to a musical family in Novosibirsk (USSR) in 1977. At the age of seven, he commenced his studies with Prof. Zakhar Bron and later with Prof. Alexey Gvozdev in Novosibirsk. During this time, he was a prize winner in the All-Russian and Wieniawski International Violin Competition. After that he studied with Prof. Dora Schwarzberg at the Vienna Academy of Music. Ilya has performed all over Russia, Europe and in Brazil, Indonesia, Korea and Japan. He has also appeared with prestigious orchestras and participated in many festivals. Since 1997, he has been a concertmaster of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta. Starting from 2006, Ilya has been teaching violin and chamber music at the Buchmann–Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University.
     
    Twelve years after their first concert, the Gift of Life Foundation’s inauguration in 2003, Ilya has been back to Thailand with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) on several occasions. Ilya’s landmark performance was on the occasion of H.M. the Queen’s 80th birthday when the IPO, featuring Maestro Zubin Mehta, performed in front of the Grand Palace.
      
    Nat Yontararak is a “Silpathorn” award Steinway artist who has revolutionized classical music, especially in piano circle, in Thailand. He studied music at Goldsmith’s College, University of London and accomplished a master degree in piano performance, Reading University, under the tutelage of Gwenneth Pryor and Philip Fowke. In 2006, Nat composed his first Thai piano sonata “Glory to our Great kings” to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s ascension to the throne. He has performed and premiered his compositions in over 66 concerts throughout Europe and China. He has always been performing and raising funds for charities, including “The Gift of Life Foundation”, “Treasure Our Elephants Funds”, “The Bone Marrow Transplant Club” and many more.
