In the morning of Saturday, October 7, sirens were sound all across Israel during the morning prayers of the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah. Hamas, the terrorist origination ruling Gaza, launched a meticulously planned attack on the innocent citizens of Israel.
The situation is still unfolding, and the details are continually emerging. What we do know is that more than 2,000 missiles and mortar shells were indiscriminately fired into civilian neighbourhoods across Israel, resulting in multiple casualties. Using this cover, groups of armed terrorists infiltrating our borders through the use of drones, tunnels, and from the sea, and are roaming the streets of our southern cities, shooting anyone in site.
Disturbingly, Palestinian social media channels are filled with horrifying footage of terrorists slaughtering full families in their homes and in bomb shelters. Militants are seen parading through Gaza with the lifeless bodies of Israeli soldiers and innocent civilians. Israel has declared a state of emergency, closed its airports, and is mobilizing reserve forces to address this dire situation.
We expect the internationally community to unequivocally condemn this unprovoked attack on Israel and the mass slaughter of innocent people on our streets, and in their homes, at the hands of the terrorist organization, Hamas. The strong condemnation would send a powerful message against such acts of violence and terror.

Together, we can send a resounding message that terrorism and violence have no place in our world.
