Israel-Hamas War Press Release: October 10, 2023

  •   The Rising Death Toll

Following three days of intense conflict in Israeli Southern cities, we are gradually comprehending the profound devastation that has befallen our nation. Tragically, over 900 lives have been lost in the terror attacks, the majority being innocent civilians. The terrorists demonstrated a complete disregard for the sanctity of life, targeting women, children, and even infants. The casualties include foreign nationals from various countries, among them Nepali, Argentinian, German, American, and more. Regrettably, so far, we report the loss of 12 Thai workers, several injuries, and the abduction of at least 11 into Gaza.

In response to these heinous acts, the Israeli Air Force has taken action to target Hamas terrorists, their offices, and infrastructure within Gaza. Meanwhile, the Israeli government is carefully considering the most appropriate course of action in this critical situation.
On our Northern border, Hizballah has been testing the resolve of Israeli forces by launching mortar shells, anti-tank missiles, and even attempting to infiltrate the border with a small unit of terrorists, which were detected and killed. We fervently hope that they do not escalate their involvement in this conflict.

Ambassador Orna Sagiv conveyed her deepest condolences, saying, "My heart goes out to the families of the victims, whether they are from Israel, Thailand, or any other nation. I assure you that Israel is sparing no effort to protect and assist everyone affected by this dire situation. Furthermore, it is important to note that according to Israeli law, all individuals who fall victim to terror attacks within Israel are recognized by the Israeli government and receive equal status regardless of their nationality."
