Over 1000 guests celebrated the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the State of Israel and the Kingdom of Thailand at the

(a stunning soprano),
Amir Gwirtzman
(virtuoso woodwind multi-instrumentalist),
alongside
impressive Thai bass-baritone,
Kittinant Chinsamran
.
T
he night commenced
with opera composer Meyerbeer’s overture to Alimelek, orchestrated by Shalev, followed by Keren’s beautiful and powerful rendition of Rossini’s “Una Voce Pocofa” and Bizet’s gypsy song “Chanson Boheme”, her interpretation of Naomi Shemer’s “Jerusalem of Gold” brought tears to the eyes of the audience.
The famous Thai bass-baritone, Kittinant, joined Keren for another favorite from Carmen, “Toreador” the chorus sung by no other than the audience itself. The pair also performed a soulful duet of “Tonight” from West Side Story.
Amir Gwirtzman impressed the audience with his
unfettered free-blowing solo on the
saxophone which he single handedly complimented with several other different wind instruments from various countries around the globe.
He orchestrated these instruments together to make a multi-cultural musical tapestry. He touched the hearts of the audience by saying that “Flutes are like us, humans, we may look different, we may speak different languages, but there is far more that unites us than divides us, far more that we share together.”
Nearing the culmination of this lively and participatory concert,
all of the artists from the two nations performed “Candlelight Blues” and “Magic Beams”, compositions by His Majesty the King of Thailand.
It was truly a unique event showcasing the power and
Gift of Music
that unites us all.
