Ambassador Belaynesh attended the briefing on U.S.–Africa Leaders Summit at the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa. The Simmit, hosted by U.S. President Barak Obama, was attended by close to 50 African leaders, ambassadors, government officials.
During the briefing, made by the U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia and the U.S. Ambassador to the AU, Ambassador Belaynesh learned that they had a successful summit on the topics: “Working Session on Resilience and Food Security in a Changing Climate”; “African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA)”, expanding the U.S.-Africa economic relationship and business deals; clean energy finance signing ceremony; help for African children with HIV; educating girls and empowering women; and wildlife trafficking, among others.
