Thanks to the collaboration of the Israeli firefighters and Ethiopian authorities the wildfire in Simien Mountains National Park is now EXTINGUISHED!
An Israeli team composed of 9 fire fighters from the Israeli Fire and Rescue Services and the Home Front Command of the Israeli Defense Force landed Sunday morning in Gondar. The team joined the local forces and advised on various techniques in containing the fire. As a result, the wildfire in Simien Mountains National Park is extinguished.
The delegation has been sent to Ethiopia under the instruction of the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, following the request of PM Dr. Abiy Ahmed made in a phone conversation with PM Netanyahu.
