    General of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yuval Rotem held a special meeting in honor of the Israeli firefighters mission sent to Ethiopia in April to assist the local authorities to combat the wildfires in the Semien Mountains. “We will always stand shoulder to shoulder with our friends in time of need”, said Ambassador Rotem. The meeting was attended by the firefighters delegation, headed by Brig. General Zion Shenkor and Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
    An Israeli team composed of 9 fire fighters from the Israeli Fire and Rescue Services and the Home Front Command of the Israeli Defense Force came to Ethiopia last April. The team joined the local forces and advised on various techniques in containing the fire. As a result, the wildfire in Simien Mountains National Park is extinguished.
    The delegation has been sent to Ethiopia under the instruction of the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, following the request of PM Dr. Abiy Ahmed made in a phone conversation with PM Netanyahu.
    Whenever friends will be in need, Israel will always be there!
