The Israeli Embassy and Dream Doctors Project arranged a surprising visit of David Dush BarasHi and Zoya Hayat, the Israeli medical clowns. During their visit, Dush and Zoya conducted Medical Clowning workshop to the super talented Rwandan Acrobats.
During the workshop, the acrobats acquired the knowledge and skills of becoming medical clowns and leaned methods of using clowning techniques during medical treatments.
The workshop concluded with an on-the-job training of Dush and Zoya together with the acrobats at the University Teaching Hospital of Kigali (CHUK). Their journey in Kigali also included shows to the children of Gisimba Orphanage and Kimisagara Youh Center.
The Dream Doctors Project is a unique non-profit organization that integrates therapeutic medical clowns (“Dream Doctors”) as an integral part of the healthcare staff in hospitals throughout Israel and around the world by training them to work as part of multidisciplinary teams. They assist with various medical procedures, increasing patient wellbeing and promoting the efficacy of healthcare delivery.
