The Embassy of Israel hosted a conference titled “Israel-Ethiopia: Tourism, Business and More”. The event gathered participants from different religious organizations, businesspersons, travel agencies and other stakeholders, aimed to expose the broad-scale opportunities in the sectors of tourism and business, as well as to encourage and widen the scale of pilgrimage and leisure tourism to Israel.
In his opening remarks, H.E. Ambassador-Designate Aleligne Admasu said, he is ecstatic to serve Israel in Ethiopia, stressing the millennia old relations between the two nations: “Israel is a small country, but in innovation and technology Israel is among the leaders in the world". He also added that, “the embassy will work with relevant stakeholders in the fields of tourism, innovation and technology to further foster the relations between Israel and Ethiopia”.
His Holiness Dr. Abune Aregawi, Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Patriarch Special Office and Foreign Affairs Head, also stated the close religious, cultural and political relation between the two sisterly nations and added that he wishes that the two nations’ relations will further strengthen during the term of Ambassador Admasu.
The event included a lecture by Kes Daniel on “The Historical over view of their common faith, culture, social life and family relations”. Connecting the past with the future, Deputy Ambassador Or Daniely shared the secrets for the success of Israel’s’ innovation in the short lecture titled, “From Biblical Kingdom to worldwide leader in innovation”.
