A group of 20 parliamentarians from Israel Allies Caucuses from 16 countries around the world are gathering in Jerusalem next week in solidarity with Israel.

The lawmakers, who will be attending the Israel Allies Foundation annual Jerusalem Chairman’s Conference, are expected to call for an investigation of UNRWA following the discovery of weaponry in UN schools in Gaza during this summer’s war against Hamas as well as urge for accountability of the organization and will speak out against the persecution of Christians throughout the Middle East.

The parliamentarians are coming from an array of countries around the world, including the UK, Canada, Holland, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Greece, Uruguay, Poland, South Africa, Italy, Suriname, Guatemala, Brazil, and Sweden, as well as from the European Parliament.

The three-day conference, which is being co-sponsored by the World Jewish Congress and the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, will take place between Sunday, October 12, 2014 and Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Jerusalem’s Mamilla Hotel.

The event, which will be attended by the President of the World Jewish Congress Ronald S. Lauder, will include security briefings by a senior government minister, as well as a keynote address by President Reuven Rivlin at the Feast of the Tabernacles.

The conference will kick off with a one-day tour of Jerusalem and the outlying areas around the city on Sunday, including a visit to a factory in Ma’ale Adumim which employs both Palestinian and Israeli workers. In addition, a series of sessions will take place at the Mamilla Hotel on Monday, such as a panel discussion on the persecution of religious minorities in the Middle East, UNRWA, as well as discussion with Knesset members from four different parties on Egyptian President Sisi’s reported offer to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to reach a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

 “The hundreds of Congressmen and parliamentarians around the world who are active in our network of caucuses represent millions of Israel supporters around the world,” said Rabbi Benny Elon, President of the Israel Allies Foundation. “While the anti-Israel crowd is often more raucous and vocal, it is imperative to know that there are millions of lovers of Zion whose voices can be channeled for political support for the State of Israel.”
