On the International Holocaust Remembrance Day designated by the UN General Assembly, today January 27, 2014, the Embassy of the State of Israel has the honor to extend an invitation to the civil society of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, to attend the 9th International Conference on Holocaust Education.
On this annual day of commemoration, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the UN urges every member state to honor the victims of the Nazi era and to develop educational programs to help prevent future genocides.
The Embassy of Israel in Addis Ababa, hence, officially sends out this message, specially sent on this day, January 27th, and informs about the 9th International Conference on Holocaust Education at the International School for Holocaust Studies of Yad Vashem, Jerusalem, Israel.
The conference will take place from July 7-10, 2014 and Israel is expecting more than 350 participants, among them, key leaders in the education systems throughout the world from over 50 different countries. And in particular:
· Holocaust Museums/Centers
· Ministries of Education / Culture that deal in Human Rights and Combating Intolerance
· University Professors who teach Holocaust, Genocide Studies and Human Rights
· School Principals
