When's the last time you planted a tree ? Well in Israel, we do it all the time, but today is a particularly big day for tree planting.
Today is Tu Bishvat, also known as the "New Year of the Trees", a holiday which celebrates nature and promotes ecological awareness.
Tu Bishvat, the fifteenth day of the Jewish month Shvat, marks the beginning of the cycle in which trees start to bloom in Israel, indicating that Spring is closer than it seems.
With Tu BiShvat on the calendar, it’s no surprise that Israel is one of the few countries worldwide to enter the 21st century with a net gain in trees, which are essential to our life on planet earth!
Mother Nature has done so much for us. Let's give her and our planet the love that it deserves.
