Ethiopian Ada Abda Tula wins the Tel Aviv Marathon

    In the women’s race of the Tel Aviv Marathon, Ethiopian Ada Abda Tula finished the run with an end time of 02:38:27!!!!
    The winner of Friday's Tel Aviv Gillette Marathon 2012, in which over 25,000 took part, has set a new record. Friday’s race was the fourth time that the marathon has taken place.
    Kenyan runner Sammy Tu finished the race in 02:15:14, ahead of Chamba Henry Kipkirui, also from Kenya, who crossed the finish line second in 02:16:59. In the women’s race, Ethiopian Ada Abda Tula finished the run with an end time of 02:38:27.
    Some 1,700 of the participants took part in the full 42.2 kilometer long marathon. Runners set off at 6:45 A.M. from Charles Clore Park, and headed north on Hayarkon Street, then to Allenby Road, via Rothschild Boulevard, to the Kirya and the Azrieli complex via Kaplan Street before circling back to Hayarkon Street and on to North Tel Aviv and back to Charles Clore Park via Ibn Gabirol, Frishman, Dizengoff and Nordau streets.
