Embassy hosts Agricultural Transformation Agency

    ​​Deputy Chief of Mission, Leo Vinovezky, with Serkalem Adigeh from the Embassy (Trade Promotion Department) talked about cooperation between the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) and our embassy through MASHAV beside our Economic Department. Representing the ATA, Mr. Dawit Mulugeta just returned from a conference in Tel Aviv University, Israel about determining factors for food safety, security –– Manna Center Program for Food Safety and Security's 2014 Conference –– an international conference on the role of the private sector in advancing agricultural innovation in development.
     
    Manna Center for Food Safety and Security at Tel Aviv University, in collaboration with the Pears Innovation for International Development Program and MASHAV, organized this conference on the topic of Leveraging the Private Sector for Agricultural Innovation in Development.
     
    Over 120 people attended the conference divided in 3 panels. Each of the three panels addressed different perspectives of this issue, and gave a broad idea of the advantages of working in collaboration with the private sector. It also raised important ethical and practical issues in doing so.
    The speakers were from different sectors and disciplines, eleven of them came from around the world and four were Israeli.
