The government of Israel, through the Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation – MASHAV has dispatched two experts in aquaculture to lead an on-the-spot course at the Institute of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences at Yabassi in the Littoral Region of Cameroon.
Running from 4th March to 13th March 2013, at Yabassi, the Israeli experts, Dr. Bejerano and Dr. Rothbard will share their technical know-how with students of the Institute, invited practitioners of aquaculture and government officials of the fisheries sector. They will also share the Israeli experience in the development of fish farms in the wild and in-land.
It should be noted that Israel has developed a fine reputation in fisheries and aquaculture. The sector is now amongst Israel's five highest agro-technological exports; the other four being greenhouse technology, dairy farming, poultry farming and Water and irrigation technology.
