Each year, the Embassy of Israel in Cameroon organizes a demonstration on the sidelines of its national holiday. It involves supporting a project in the areas of social, health, sustainable development and others.
The Embassy of Cameroon this year solicited the participation of HE Albert Roger MILLA (African Footballer of the Century, Roving Ambassador to the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon, Ambassador of several International and local Organizations, sponsor of numerous humanitarian causes and linked to development…) to accompany this initiative through its personal involvement and the participation of its Foundation ‘‘COEUR d’AFRIQUE’’.
In the one hand, ‘‘COEUR d’AFRIQUE-Roger MILLA Foundation’’, for the last three years, has been supported the Sickle Cell Pavilion of the Mother and Child Center of CHANTAL BIYA FOUNDATION, through a supply of hospital equipment and various equipment to support the First Lady Foundation. In the other hand, COEUR d’AFRIQUE-Roger MILLA Foundation has built a center in Yaounde for socio-professional integration of women in situations of disability (HANDICAP HOME). This structure will benefit to 30 women with disabilities who work in the following sectors: sewing, hairdressing, basket weaving, sculpture, secretarial work, restoration.
Those two structures were the beneficiaries of the ‘‘ISRAEL DAY With Roger MILLA 2017’’ on Thursday 4th may 2017, which had several articulations:
- The donation of materials for the start-up of the HANDICAP HOME of Yaoundé (sewing materials, hairdressing, sculpture, secretarial work, restoration...)
- Support to handicapped women members of the HANDICAP HOME
- The donation of medicines to the Sickle Cell Pavilion of the Mother and Child Center of CHANTAL BIYA FOUNDATION
- Cultural and artistic attractions by women with disabilities and Sickle Cell children.
The main objective was to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the people of Israel and Cameroon through programs and projects of solidarity, poverty reduction and development support.
At the end, ISRAEL DAY with Roger MILLA contributed to the empowerment of 30 women with disabilities through the delivery of professional materials and the medical support of Sickle Cell children with a donation of medicines.
