On 26th April 2012, the people, government and Diplomatic Community of Cameroon joined the Local Israeli community to celebrate the 64th anniversary of Israel’s Independence.
In a keynote address, Ambassador Miki ARBEL reminded his guests of the significance in Independence Day saying that in was a moment on the calendar when Israeli culture, history and statehood are celebrated.
The Ambassador made a recap of the not only of the bilateral relations between Cameroon and Israel, but also highlighted some of the key areas in which the embassy had focused its activity in Cameroon within the previous year. The key areas, he said, were agriculture, Health, Training and knowledge sharing.
The Ambassador was hopeful that the cooperation between Cameroon and Israel will continue to flourish. He announced that in the next twelve months, emphasis will continue to be laid on agriculture, health and training. He said that an eye camp had been scheduled for Bamenda and the Millennium Village Project will go on to another phase.
Finally, the Ambassador urged Cameroonians to visit Israel for the Agriculture fair AGRITECH 2012 to which, he said, three members of the Cameroon government had been officially invited.
