CALL TO WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS & STARTUPPERs!
The Embassy of Israel in Japan in collaboration with Samurai Incubate, Inc. will host a competition tailored for women start-uppers in Japan!
The winner will go to Israel and join winners from 20-30 countries across the world in a 5-day professional international start-up seminar and DLD Tel Del Aviv Innovation Festival, which will take place on September 25 – 29, 2016.
Japan entry opens on May 2. The shortlisted will compete in the pitching competition in Sunday afternoon of June 26 in Tennozu Isle, Tokyo (a concurrent event of the Samurai Island Expo 2016).
What is Start Tel Aviv?
It is a global competition aiming to bring together startups from around the world to compete for the opportunity to take part in an intense, five-day star-up experience in Tel Aviv’s unrivaled startup ecosystem, sponsored by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tel Aviv Municipality. Participating countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Latvia, Korea, Kenya, Norway, Portugal, Poland, Peru, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, UK, Uruguay and Vietnam.*

What we are looking for?
· Women entrepreneurs and start-uppers of ICT, web, mobile and IOT technology products in early seed funding stage (Your team must reside in Japan), with a prototype to present.
· The team representatives must be aged 25 – 45 years old
· An independent (not a subsidiary of a large and established) company
· Pitching will be in English
Timeline
· Entry opens: May 2 (Mon)
· Entry deadline: June 20 (Mon)
· Shortlist announcement: June 21 (Tue) – Finalists will be notified individually by registered e-mail.
· Pitching competition and award:
o WHERE — Sphere Tower Tennouzu, TOKYO — MAP
o AWARD — A one-week all expenses paid trip to Tel Aviv, Israel! Together with winners from selected countries around the world, the winner will participate in lectures, workshops and meetings in a tailor-made 5-day seminar at the DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival (September 25 – 29, 2016).

Start Tel Aviv Experience 2016 Schedule (Subject to changes)
Day 1:
• Launch event hosted by the Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Mr. Ron Huldai
• Workshops on the Israeli tech scene and how to network with the Big Fish in Tel Aviv.
• Visiting co-working spaces in Tel Aviv
• Mayor's Cocktail Reception
Day 2:
• Workshops including 'Perfect your Pitch', 'Innovation in the Startup Nation', 'How to Fundraise', 'How to Build a Killer Team', 'Taking your Product Global', and more.
• Investor's Pitching Session with top Israeli and international investors and VC’s
Day 3:
• Access to Europe's top tech conference - Tel Aviv DLD Innovation Festival
• Open Startup: A city wide festival celebrating the startup city of Tel Aviv, with over 100 local startups and accelerators opening their doors to the general public, presenting a "behind the scenes" look into the world of startups and startup entrepreneurs.
• Rothschild Boulevard Urban Happening: events and innovation, throughout the night.
Day 4:
• One-on-one meetings with mentors and advisors
• Exposure to experts and professionals from a multitude of industries
Day 5:
• Touring Israel: A visit to Jerusalem
How to enter?
· Please fill out the ENTRY FORM in English from the link.
· Entry deadline is Wednesday, June 20, 2016
· The jury will consist of professionals, investors and entrepreneurs both from Japan and Israel.
· We will announce the shortlist for the pitching competition on Tuesday, June 21. Finalists will win a free pass to Samurai Island Expo 2016 on June 25 & 26.
· Only one founding member of a start-up company may submit the company to the competition.
· The prize will be given to the founder who entered the competition.
What else do you need to know?
· Participants must be able to arrive in Israel no later than the evening of 24 Sept and leave no earlier than evening of 29 Sept 2016, and follow the schedule provided by the organizer.
· It is mandatory for the winner to follow the special 5-day program and seminar that has been designated for them. Failure to do so will result in loss of privileges and will require reimbursement of all expenses by the winner.
What is the DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival?
· It is Israel’s largest international high-tech gathering, featuring hundreds of startups, VCs, angel investors and leading multinationals, and is the best place to network with the entire high tech community.
