    ​On Thursday, October 17th, The Japanese Ambassador in Israel Mr. Hideo Sato hosted a special ceremony, awarding the Israel-Japan Friendship Society and Chamber of Commerce with the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for the organization’s services to the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and Israel. The Foreign Minister's Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups of outstanding achievements in international fields, to acknowledge their contribution to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries. The Commendation also aims to promote the understanding and support of the Japanese public for their activities.

    In addition to Foreign Minister’s award, the Ambassador’s Commendations Award was given to Mr. Roni Bornstein, Chairman of the Israel-Japan Chamber of Commerce, and to Mr. Arie Kutz, Chairman of the Israel-Japan Friendship Society, to honor and recognize their outstanding contributions to the deepening of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Israel.

    The Israel-Japan Friendship Society and Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization, established in 1956, aimed to promote cultural and commercial ties between Israel and Japan. The association is the leading organization of its kind in Israel.
