On Monday, August 29th, a ceremony was held to commemorate the contribution of former State Minister of Defense Yasuhide Nakayama to Japan-Israel relations, in the presence of the Minister of Defense Benny Gantz and Japan's Minister of Defense, Yasukazu Hamada.
Mr. Nakayama is known for unwavering support for Israel, and has worked to promote relations between Israel and Japan in various fields.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nakayama received the "Israel-Japan Friendship Award" from Minister of Defense Gantz.
It is the first time this award has been presented.
