Ambassador Ruth Kahanoff visited Kobe last week and met with the governor of Hyogo prefecture Mr. Toshizō Ido and the Mayor of Kobe Mr. Kizō Hisamoto, escorted by Israel’s honorary consul to Kansai Mr. Shirō Mitsumune.
Ambassador Kahanoff enjoyed the warm atmosphere of Kobe and thanked the people of Kobe for helping the Jewish refugees in time of need during World War 2.
