As part of the special 70th anniversary celebrations of the state of Israel, the embassy of Israel in Japan brought together Rita, Israel’s greatest diva, and EXILE ATSUSHI, one of Japan's biggest stars, together with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra for a very special concert.
More than 1,400 guests enjoyed the unique musical collaboration that took place at the Tokyo Opera City concert hall on November 6th.

Rita, who was born in Iran and immigrated to Israel when she was a child, performed in five languages (Hebrew, English, Persian, Italian and French) during the concert. The highlight of the evening was the touching duet of Rita and EXILE ATSUSHI singing "Imagine" by John Lennon.

“There is a great resemblance between our two nations, holding similar values and determination.”, said Ambassador Ben Ari at the event.

She added how much she is looking forward to a future of unparalleled cooperation between the two nations, “Our friendship has been developing for seven decades but now is moving into an exciting new era! Imagine the future that awaits us when Japanese and Israelis, science and industry, are joining hands to bring our cooperative creativity to a much higher level, making a greater contribution to prosperity everywhere.”

It was an evening to remember!

The concert was conducted by the Israeli conductor David Sebba.
