We pride ourselves in commemorating International Women's Day (IWD) every year, showcasing different themes - all with the universal goal of inspiring women, celebrating achievements and addressing pertinent issues relating to women in modern times. For IWD 2013, we were very pleased to hold a short film screening followed by a panel discussion on a topic close to the heart of every Singaporean parent:
Striking the Perfect Balance – An International Women's Day event
Presented by The Embassy of Israel
Thursday, 28 March 2013, 730pm, Singapore Art Museum
A lot of countries, including Singapore and Israel have made great strides in equalizing opportunities for women in the workplace, but the real challenge appears to lie in striking a balance between family and career. We had the pleasure of introducing three distinguished panelists who shared their thoughts and views on this hot topic. Daphne Ling - Blogger, Mother, Inc/ Suhaimi Rafdi – CEO Cathay Organisation/ Sher-Li Torrey- Founder of Mums@Work
The session commenced with a short Israeli film screening of SHALOM featuring a mother of three kids - one of whom named Shalom is an autistic 9-year old – juggling her roles as a mother, wife and employee.
