Eliyahu Vered Hazan was born in Jerusalem, Israel on August 5th, 1977. He attained his B.A and M.A Degree in History from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and studied German Language Studies at the University of Vienna.
Ambassador Hazan became a columnist at Israel Hayom, the daily newspaper, after obtaining his degrees, while working as a history teacher at a public college in Ramla. He later joined the Likud Party as an advisor.
Ambassador Hazan has had extensive experience in government, particularly in Israel and the Middle East. - He served as an advisor to various cabinet ministers, such as former Minister of Education, MK Gideon Saar, former Political Advisor to The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Intelligence, MK Dan Meridor.
From 2014 to 2023, he held the positions of Foreign Affairs Director of the Likud Party as well as the Vice Chairman of the International Democrat Union. In 2021, he became the spokesperson of the Likud Party and to then-Leader of the OppositionBenjamin Netanyahu. Ambassador Hazan recently joined Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was assigned to be Israel’s Ambassador to Singapore.
Ambassador Hazan is fluent in Hebrew and English.
He is married to Gila Vered Hazan and they have two children, aged 2 and 4.
