Always having been intrigued with New York and its legendary impact on the music scene, this Tel Aviv native decided to move there from Israel. Before long, Paula Valstein was headlining such venues and festivals as The Blue Note, Joe’s Pub, Rockwood Music Hall, Highline Ballroom, CMJ Festival and the Steinway Piano Series just to name a few.
Last summer, Paula clinched Best Performance honors in “A Star Is Born”, the highest rated television program in Israel, similar to American Idol. It has made her a household name all over Israel. She also won an award in the US at the International Songwriting Competition for her compositions.
This year has been Paula’s busiest yet, playing with JOAN OSBORNE, COLIN HAY (Men At Work), and New Orleans legend DR JOHN. Paula also performed at the International Jazz Festival in the Philippines 2010, a Jeff Buckley Tribute show in Chicago and did an extensive worldwide tour performing in Monte Carlo, United States, Israel and Canada.
Paula was featured in TODAY, STLife, The Urbanwire as well as The New Paper. While she was in town, she also did an interview live of 938Live on The Living Room. Here are some pictures from her public performance at TAB
