Please take me back to Jerusalem. My entire trip meeting new friends, the team of Project Muza and basically being in this holy city just reminded me once again how blessed and lucky I am to have experienced this once in a lifetime journey. Growing up, I’m always so used to going to the same countries every year with my family and I was completely fine with it. It’s really just this year that I’ve realised that I want to explore new destinations and appreciate the beauty and learn the culture of each country I go to. Allow me to share with you my adventure in Jerusalem, Israel.
We went to the Ahava factory where we got to see how they manufacture their beauty products. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the brand, they’re a personal care and cosmetics company that gets minerals from The Dead Sea and produces them into lotions, creams, serums, etc. We were able to take home a lot of products from them and I was very happy to share it with my mom! The scents of the lotions are incredible.
I love meeting new friends every time I have press trips. Project Muza handpicked a couple of bloggers from around the world for this tour and they’re all so cool!
After going to Ahava’s factory, we went straight to Synergy Spa where they had a pool which contains water from The Dead Sea. I took a dip and you’ll really float the entire time. It’s the saltiest water on Earth and if you have any cuts or if you shaved the night before, don’t dare go in because it will be super painful! I still can’t believe I got to swim here and on the actual Dead Sea. What a dream come true.
Going inside their local markets can be very tricky- you can get lost easily (I did) if you’re with a big group, so you have to make sure your friends are always visible! I had so much fun trying out their local delicacies and checking out their fabrics. I bought myself a Moroccan carpet from Moristan Market where they sell tons of oriental fabrics that are so unique.
Check out this view of the old city. It’s home to several sites of key religious importance: the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims, the Temple Mount and Western Wall for Jews and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Christians. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site List in 1981.
We also did a Segway Tour around the city and I had so much fun! Not really prepared so much since I was wearing a skirt but I still nailed it. Lol. It’s totally safe and it’s easy to learn how to use it.
On our last day in Jerusalem, we went on a road trip and reached Mount Carmel in 45 minutes! We tried the best authentic dishes from the Druze community and were able to know they religion and how they live their lives in their small, peaceful village.
