Ministry of Tourism conducts a two-city roadshow

After breaking tourism records and ending 2017 with a 61% increase of Filipinos travelling to Holy Land, the Israel Ministry of Tourism conducted its first two-city roadshow in the Philippines last April 24, 2018 in Manila and April 26, 2018 in Cebu City. Around 19 companies from Israel joined the roadshow. Manila event was conducted in a networking format with companies from Israel and attended by over 100 travel agents.Commenting on the occasion, Hassan Madah, Director – Israel Ministry of Tourism in India and the Philippines said, “Israel is an emerging destination for the Filipino Traveller and tourist arrivals has been growing from the Philippines to Israel over the last two years. We wanted to tap new markets, so we decided to conduct roadshows in Manila and Cebu. We are also working on the connectivity as we discuss with the Philippine Airlines the possibility of having a direct flight, hopefully by the end of the year.”
Also present in the event were Israel Ambassador Effie Ben Matityau and Celebrity Maricel Laxa- Pangilinan.
Roundtrip tickets to Israel were raffled off to the lucky participants.
Statistics from the Philippines’s Department of Tourism showed that a total of 17,446 Israelis traveled to the Philippines in 2017 while Israel achieved a growth of 61% in 2017 over the previous year creating a new record with 23,500 Filipinos visiting the destination.
The Israel Ministry of Tourism office in Manila is stepping up marketing efforts to encourage more Filipinos to travel to Israel this year hosting several celebrities and TV shows to come and visit Israel. Philippine passport holders can enjoy visa-free access to Israel up to 90 days.
