The Embassy of Israel in the
Philippines celebrated MASHAV, Israel's Agency for International Development
Cooperation, 60th anniversary in a Gala event that gathered MASHAV graduates
and friends of Israel in the Philippines.More than 3,000 Filipinos from
public agencies, academe and private sector have completed international
courses and workshops in their fields of capability including agriculture and
food security, community development, education, innovation and
entrepreneurship, and medicine and public health.
In her keynote address,
Senator Cynthia Villar encouraged MASHAV scholars to implement the skills that
they acquired in Israel after their return to the Philippines. Ambassador of
Israel Rafael Harpaz welcomed MASHAV scholars and emphasized the good historic
relations between the countries.
Israeli opera singer Yaniv D’Or
and musicians Amit Tiefenbrunn, Eyal Leber and Nadav Ovadia made a special
guest performance in the event.
The event will serve as a
starting point for a tradition of a productive cooperation between the Embassy
of Israel and MASHAV graduates in the Philippines.
