A 40-member humanitarian student delegation from Israel conducted community work in Nueva Ecija from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, and from Oct. 6 to 8, 2014.

The Israeli students led educational activities for the students of Magtanggol Integrated School in Munoz, Nueva Ecija. They also painted the classrooms to inspire the young learners.

The Israeli and Filipino students also shared their rich culture in a community festival of music and dances, Oct. 7. To end the seven-day program, the Israelis distributed toys, clothes and toiletries to the students in a market festival, Oct. 8.

The delegation headed by Shachar Nahari and Maor Cohen came from the College of Management Academic Studies (COMAS), the largest college in Israel with 12,000 students. It is the country’s first non-subsidized, non-profit academic institution. In recent years, COMAS’ Student Union Foreign Relations Department had sent student humanitarian delegations to countries such as Ethiopia, Nepal, Poland, Thailand, and the US.
